Winner Apex Art Exhibition Open Call - "Flora Fantastic" Curators Corina L. Apostol & Tashima Thomas

We won! The Apex Art Exhibition Open Call 2022-2023 for our exhibition, “Flora Fantastic: Eco-Critical Contemporary Botanical Art.” My co-curator/co-editor/collaborator Corina L. Apostol and myself will be bringing our exhibition to Apex Art in NYC. We currently have an edited volume under contract with Routledge Press titled, “Flora Fantastic: From Orchidelirium to Eco-Critical Contemporary Botanical Art.” The Apex Art Open Call had over 600 voters, received 446 submissions, and 23,000 votes. Our exhibition is ranked fourth in the top five of this esteemed bunch of creatives.

The five highest ranking proposals were submitted by: Eimi Tagore-Erwin (KANTEN 観展: The Limits of History), Clark Stoeckley (Kafala: Slavery in the Arabian Peninsula), Marie Meyerding (Defiant Visions), Corina Apostol, Tashima Thomas (Flora Fantastic: Eco-Critical Contemporary Botanical Art), and Julia Hartmann ("My Pen Won’t Break, But Borders Will").
